Sarah Hendrickson, PA-C

Pediatric Urology Outreach Coordinator

Sarah Hendrickson is a board-certified physician assistant specializing in Pediatric Urology. She received her bachelor’s in biology and master’s in public health from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, and master’s in physician assistant practice from Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina.  Her practice includes a wide variety of urologic conditions affecting children and teens, but her primary clinical interests include bladder dysfunction, bedwetting, and recurrent urinary tract infections. Most recently, Hendrickson created the Motivational Voiding Program at WakeMed, which offers creative, patient-centered solutions to assist in achieving dryness for children and adolescents, and is ideal for children with underlying medical conditions such as ADHD, autism, sensory processing disorder, anxiety or developmental delay.

Hendrickson’s approach to caring for her patients has always been a patient and family centered approach. Even with her youngest patients, she loves teaching them about their bodies with motivational strategies to be their healthiest selves. Parents know their children best, and Hendrickson feels it is important for them to also feel empowered in choosing the best plan. Outside of work, you’ll find her spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, and enjoying the outdoors.
